Carlo Cooper — Inventor. Drummer. Visionary.
Carlo Cooper is more than a father of three and lifelong drummer — he’s an inventor on a mission to change the way people connect with the tools they love.
The Breakthrough Moment
Born in Oak Park, just outside Chicago, Carlo stumbled onto the idea that would become Cooper Groove while practicing in his home studio. Frustrated by slippery sticks, sore hands, and the thought of dulling his feel with gloves, he began to experiment.
With nothing but sandpaper and determination, he carved cross-cuts into his drumsticks. Those rough cuts evolved into a precise system of Grooves — and that’s where the magic began.
From Experiment to Innovation
In the fall of 2015, Carlo introduced Cooper Groove Performance Drumsticks to the world with a single Facebook post and a bold promise:
“Increase grip, keep hands dry, stimulate pressure points.”
The response was immediate and powerful. Drummers reported more than Carlo ever imagined: less fatigue, reduced shock, fewer slips, and freedom from cramps, numbness, and pain. For many, the sticks didn’t just improve performance — they gave them back the ability to play without suffering.
“When I found out drummers could play without pain, I knew I was onto something.”
Recognition & Industry Impact
The industry took notice. Cooper Groove sticks have been featured in DRUM! Magazine, Modern Drummer, Upbeat, Downbeat, and Drums & Percussion, earning awards and consistent five-star reviews.
They even carry the boldest promise in the industry: the “Keep the Grooves” Guarantee — if you don’t love them, you get your money back and keep the sticks.
Beyond Drumming — A Universal Grip Revolution
Carlo quickly realized that the human connection to grip goes far beyond drumming. Today, the same patented Groove technology is expanding into baseball bats, golf grips, and more.
For the past seven years, his focus has been clear and disruptive: to reinvent the way we hold and control the tools of our passions.
The Mission
Carlo’s vision is simple yet powerful:
“The world is a better place when people can do what they love.”
